About Us

Welcome to the Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club (FCRCFC). Our members are all about model aviation in all its forms – fixed-wing, helicopters, quadcopters AKA drones, control line, free flight – you name it, if it flies, someone in the club has probably flown it at one time or another.  We’ve got a great flying site next to the Fluvanna County Landfill on route 6.  Here are directions and a map to our field.  The public is welcome to join us at our flying field any time the gate is open, and we are always looking to introduce new folks to the fun and excitement of model aviation.   Besides flying for fun, we hold several public events each year, including a major fundraising event that benefits Fluvanna County nonprofits.  If you are interested in joining FCRCFC, please see the contact page for further information. To become a club member, you must join the Academy of Model Aeronautics and only club qualified pilots may fly at the field by themselves. Club and AMA membership information/forms and other useful information can be found at the Club Information page.

President’s note:  We wrapped up the 2017 event season with a laid back celebration of National Model Aviation Day on September 16th.  It was a perfect day for flying, we met some new folks who may have interest in joining the club, enjoyed gourmet hamburgers and hot dogs, raffled off a couple gift cards for the University Dive and Hobby Shop, and made a few bucks to put toward next year’s events.  While we do not have any more events scheduled, we get plenty of nice days into November, so I hope to see some pilots at the field in the coming weeks.
